Frequently asked questions
Where do you source your ingredients?
As much as possible we source our plants from our local region in the Pacific Northwest! We ethically wild-harvest some of the plants ourselves in the forests and valleys of our home region, while other plants we source from small-scale local farmers who follow organic practices.
For plants that grow in other bioregions, such as Cacao or Palo Santo, we aim to build mutually beneficial partnerships with small-scale farmers and producers of these regions. Our Cacao and Palo Santo are currently sourced from various parts of Peru, including the Sacred Valley and the Ucayali River region of the Peruvian Amazon.
Where is your company located? Can I buy your products in stores?
Quintessence Botanicals is based in Eugene, Oregon. We have founding members and local communities in both Eugene and Portland.
While our products are not found in stores, we regularly host and attend events throughout Oregon with our products available for purchase. Contact us if you wish to connect!
How do you ship orders?
Orders are shipped via USPS.
We are a small company without a dedicated shipping team so orders are typically shipped out 1-2 times per week. Average wait time for delivery within the continental US is 3-10 business days. If you need an expedited order, please contact us before ordering to check the shipping timeframe.
Do you accept returns?
CACAO
As a consumable food-item, Cacao is not eligible for return except due to product defects. Please note that melting or crystallization (color change on the surface of your Cacao) are not considered product defects as these natural processes are purely cosmetic and do not affect the usability or health benefits of the Cacao.
ALL OTHER ITEMS
We accept returns of unopened products within 30 days of purchase and the customer is responsible for original and return shipping. Opened products are only eligible for return or refund due to product defects. We hope this never happens, but if it does, please contact us and we will make it right!
